Working With Children
I have now owned my own preschool for 5 years and before that I worked as a preschool teacher for 12 years. The question I get asked over and over again is "how can you work with kids"? First of all the children at preschool (it's not a daycare) come to school between 2 and 4 days a week for 2 1/2 hours per day. For example 3 years olds come M-T-W from 9 - 11:30 a. m. The kids come in all excitied to see their friends, they play games, do arts & crafts, learn their letters & numbers, sing, dance, cut, color, learn and have a lot of fun. They love their teachers and love to come to school. The chidren don't talk behind your back, or care what your hair looks like or what you wearing. They don't judge you or worry about who has the designer purse or shoes. They come and give you hugs for no reason and their laughter can cheer you up when you're feeling down. So my response to people when they ask me " how can you work with kids" is ........................"how can you work with adults?

Very good point. I prefer spending time with my own kids, especially the younger ones. Unconditional love wins out everytime!!!
Good luck with the little ones. I just can't handle that many of them for that long a period of time. I like to talk too much and they usually don't understand what I am talking about. I love junior high and I can even handle elementary for periods of time, but not the minis. Guess I will learn when I have my own.
